How to Find The Best Times to Post on TikTok

Here it is.

The secret universal times that’ll explode your TikTok growth and turn you into an honourary D’Amelio.

… Unfortunately, there are none.

Yup.

How anti-climactic.

The good news, though? You CAN discover the best times to post on TikTok for your account.

Here’s how:

Step 1: Switch to a Pro Account

Why do you need a pro creator or business account?

Analytics.

Once you have data from your followers to analyze, you can figure out the best times to post on TikTok and fine-tune your posting strategy.

To make the switch, all you need to do is the following:

1. Tap the three dots in the top right-hand corner of your profile page.

2. Go to “Manage my account.”

3. Select “Switch to Pro Account.”

4. Follow the set-up prompts, and voila!

You’re done.

You officially have access to TikTok analytics.

Step 2: Analyze Your TikTok Analytics

Here comes the fun part.

Open your analytics tab and tap on “Followers”.

In this section, you can discover juicy information about the community you’ve built on TikTok, like:

• Where is your audience from

• Followers by gender

• Changes in follower growth

• What TikTok videos have your followers watched

• Trending sounds

• Follower activity, aka when your audience is online

Cha-ching!

You’ve hit the jackpot.

Next, you’ll want to toggle between the day of the week and time of day to understand when your audience is most active and the best time to post for your target audience.

Tip: You don’t need to be on your phone to access the analytics on your TikTok posts. You can find all this information on the desktop app when logging into your account. Click “View Analytics” under your profile, and you can export the data from your dashboard.

Step 3: Look At Your Audience’s Time Zone

Location plays a BIG part in what appears on your TikTik For You page (FYP).

And when you’re interacting with a global audience, your posting times become a wee bit tricky once you throw time zones into the mix.

To figure it out, look at the “top territories” tab. It will tell you where most of your viewers are located, helping to complete your posting schedule.

Analyze Your TikTok Analytics

P.S. You must convert the times on your analytics tab, as TikTok shows times according to UTC.

What does this mean?

Let’s say most of your audience is from Sydney, Australia, and the optimal times in your analytics tab are 12 pm and 8 pm. That would mean the best time to post is 10 pm and 6 am AEST.

Analyzing Your TikTok Content

Figuring out the best time to post on TikTok is only one part of the puzzle.

Your content performance is another crucial piece of information that’ll help you pick the right posting time for your videos. According to research by Australian firm Marketix, the most popular video categories on TikTok include: dance challenges, lip-syncing and music videos, comedy skits, educational content and DIY and life hacks.

After publishing your content, what you need to do is analyse your data on the “Content” tab of the analytics section.

This will give you valuable information on individual post performance like:

• Which videos are getting the most engagement

• What is your average watch time

• Total play time for the selected time period

• Reach

• Total views

• Where your views came from (e.g. For You Page)

Analyzing Your TikTok Content

What are you looking for here?

Trends.

The content tab shows you data on individual TikTok posts from the last seven days, including when you posted your video.

Use this data and cross-reference it with your findings with data from the “Following” tab, and you’ll discover the sweet spot for the best time post on TikTok.

It can also help you figure out if your strategy is working when you post on TikTok.

So remember, spend time digging around your dashboard to find the TikTok posting times that work best for your account.

The Best Time to Post on TikTok FAQ

• Does TikTok post-time matter? Yes, your TikTok posting times are important to boost your views and grow an audience. If you post when most TikTok users are online, you’ll trigger the algorithm to push out your content to a wider audience the more engagement your video receives.

• Is posting once a day on TikTok good? Yes, posting once a day on TikTok is a good strategy, but TikTok does recommend posting anywhere from 1-4x per day. That being said, the trick is to find a posting schedule and frequency that is sustainable for you. If you can realistically only create content for three posts per week, that’s ok. You’ll still grow your account if you’re consistent and create quality content.

• How can I go viral on TikTok? You can improve your chances of going viral on TikTok by posting at the right time, posting consistently, using trending sounds and music, jumping onto trends, and using trending and relevant hashtags.
