YouTube Video + Instagram
While Instagram may have started off as a place to share your happy snaps it has fast evolved into the app of choice for all things video.
And as if sharing stories and saving them as highlights, posting Instagram live broadcasts, or posting video’s where a photo would go wasn’t enough; You can also share YouTube content directly to Instagram too.
As y’all know, content is king when it comes to promoting your services online and repurposing content across platforms is a clever way to maximise your reach and grow your following while minimizing your output.
So how do you get your youtube videos onto Instagram in the first place?
Good question. Glad you asked…
Instagram is yet to come up with their own solution for taking clips directly from youtube and sharing on the gram but don’t fret, as there are some purpose-built sites that were designed for the sole purpose of letting you do just that.
For ease and simplicity, we’re going to share with you the one that was the most straightforward, quick and easy to use.
It’s called Tube 2 Gram. And just like the name suggests, it takes your videos directly from YouTube and lets you upload them to Instagram
All you need to do is take the URL of the YouTube clip you want to share and place the highlight bar over the 1-minute section of the clip that you want to share over on your Instagram. Then hit download. Then you simply save that clip as a new file to your desktop, airdrop to your device and go ahead and repost it just as you would any other Instagram media.
You can post it either as a story, using any of the story templates in Canva, or post directly to your feed as a post or carousel post.
While you are limited to downloading 1-minute clips at a time on Tube 2 Gram, you can do the above steps multiple times and upload more than one video as a carousel to your feed if you wanted to share more than a minutes worth of that particular clip.
So there you go Plann’ers! It really is that simple. Go ahead and give it a try! Share your own youtube snippets to drive traffic from Instagram to your Youtube, or share other peoples YouTube content as a reference to something you want to discuss!
There’s just so much you can do when you know-how… Give it a try and let us know what you think in the comments below.
